About

Heal the Past. Regulate the Present. Move Forward with Purpose.

Heal the Past. Regulate the Present. Move Forward with Purpose. I still remember one of my first sessions, thirty-five years ago, sitting across from a mother who couldn't explain why she flinched every time her toddler cried. She wasn't broken. Her body was doing exactly what it had learned to do to survive something long before that room, that couch, that child. That session taught me something I've built my whole career on: the past doesn't just live in memory, it lives in the nervous system, and healing has to reach that deep to actually hold. That's the work I still do. For over three decades I've sat with adults, couples, parents, and leaders whose pain shows up as anxiety, panic, broken relationships, burnout, or a quiet sense that they've lost their way. I trained more than 30,000 therapists and counselors through the trauma-informed certification I built, and I developed a framework, the G.R.O.W. Method, out of what actually worked in the room, not what looked good on a shelf. I draw on EMDR, attachment theory, polyvagal and nervous-system work, family systems, and cognitive approaches, and I choose the tool that fits the person in front of me rather than running everyone through the same five steps. I also don't ask you to leave your faith at the door. For many of the people I work with, a spiritual life is not a side note; it's part of how they make sense of suffering and find their way back. My own background in spiritual direction means I can hold that alongside clinical, evidence-based care, not instead of it. If faith integration matters to you, it's welcome here. If it doesn't, that's welcome too. Two paths, depending on where you are: Trauma Therapy — for California residents whose pain, symptoms, or relationship patterns are getting in the way of daily life. This is licensed psychotherapy: EMDR, attachment-based work, nervous system regulation, family systems, and faith integration when you want it. Trauma-Informed Coaching — for people, anywhere, who are functioning but want to turn insight into action: preventing burnout, building trauma-informed leadership, navigating a transition, or reconnecting with values and purpose. Available to individuals, parents, professionals, pastors, and organizational leaders. You don't have to have a diagnosis to be in pain, and you don't have to be in crisis to want a different life. Wherever you're starting from, I'd be glad to help you find the next right step.
