Let’s Renew Your Heart, Mind, and Relationships
From the desk of Ron Huxley…
“Hello and welcome to my practice. I have a heart is to see families healed using modern neuroscience technique along with traditional mental health in a compassionate and practical manner.
My focus is on trauma and anxiety-based issues in children and adults. My practice is both online and in-person. If you schedule on a Wednesday or Thursday, you have the option of coming in person, to my office in Avila Village, or doing Telehealth which is available Monday through Thursday. Monday and Tuesday is just Telehealth via video or phone.
I also provide trauma-informed therapy for organizations. I have worked with social service agencies, charter schools, churches, coalitions, and private industry sharing trauma-sensitive practices to increase skills and self-care principles.
Let me share some of my thoughts on healing…
I believe in taking a strength-based approach that builds on solutions. I believes that the “person is not the problem, the problem is the problem,” and we can create strategies that fit each family situation in the shortest time necessary. I believe in taking a faith-based approach to problems for families that desire inner healing and biblical counsel.
When dealing with trauma, I focus on three healing strategies:
1. Calm down the reactive brain and body.
2. Increase the competencies and capacity.
3. Deepen connections with healthy people.
I utilize traditional mental health and evidence-based practices, like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping). I incorporates the latest neuroscience and attachment theory research to address C-PTSD (Complex-Posttraumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety disorders, developmental trauma, depression, and relationship challenges and more.
I also love working with faith-based organizations and churches, providing spiritual direction and pastoral counseling.
Thank you for allowing me to work with you!”
